Welcome to our comprehensive course on Bi-Pap (Bilevel Positive Airway Pressure) and C-Pap (Continuous Positive Airway Pressure) in Developmental Services. This specialized training is designed for developmental services staff, including nurses, developmental service workers, personal support workers, and educators, who support individuals using non-invasive ventilation devices. The course provides essential theoretical knowledge and practical insights to promote safe, effective, and person-centered respiratory support.
Through clear explanations and practical examples, participants will develop a strong understanding of how Bi-Pap and C-Pap devices function, their indications, and how to safely assist individuals who rely on these devices. Topics include proper setup and monitoring, mask fitting, pressure settings, troubleshooting, and recognizing early signs of equipment malfunction or respiratory distress. Emphasis is placed on infection prevention, device hygiene, and ensuring comfort and dignity throughout care.
By the end of this course, participants will be equipped with the knowledge and confidence to provide effective Bi-Pap and C-Pap support, document key observations, and collaborate effectively with healthcare professionals.
This training strengthens clinical competency and promotes better health outcomes across developmental services by ensuring that all individuals who require non-invasive ventilation receive safe, consistent, and high-quality care.
