Personal Care Introduction Course

Theory courses are available only to agencies that participate in our program, who operate in Ontario, Canada. See our enrollment fees.

This course will teach you the basic fundamentals of personal care. This course is tailored to agencies that are having to hire staff without the usual education, fundamental knowledge, or experience in the DS sector as an answer to staffing challenges. Having staff complete the personal care introduction course will give them the basic understanding of what personal care is before starting hands-on training with the vulnerable individuals you support.

 Topics include:

• Introduction to personal care
• Moving, positioning, and ambulating an individual
• Washing, bathing, and showering
• Oral care
• Toileting
• Grooming
• Eating

Upon completion, the student will receive a completion certificate for the theory component of Personal Care Introduction.
