About This Course

Welcome to our comprehensive course on Personal Care Introduction in Developmental Services. This training is designed for agencies addressing staffing challenges by hiring individuals who may not have formal education or prior experience in the developmental services sector. It provides new staff with the essential fundamentals of personal care before beginning hands-on training with the vulnerable individuals they will support.

Through clear explanations and practical guidance, you will learn the basics of moving, positioning, and ambulating individuals, as well as safe approaches to washing, bathing, and showering. The course also covers oral care, toileting, grooming, and eating support, emphasizing safety, dignity, and respect throughout all aspects of personal care.

By the end of this course, you will have the foundational knowledge and confidence to begin providing personal care, supporting both client well-being and a smooth transition into hands-on training.
