Welcome to our comprehensive course on Administering Suppositories and Enemas in Developmental Services. This training is designed for developmental services staff, including nurses, developmental service workers, and personal support workers. It provides the essential theoretical knowledge needed to safely and effectively support individuals who require medications administered by suppository or enema.
Through clear explanations and practical guidance, you will learn about bowel protocols, the administration of medications used to treat constipation, and the safe use of emergency medications that may be required in certain situations such as seizures. The course emphasizes compliance with the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and Quality Assurance Measures (QAM), while reinforcing the competence and responsibility expected of unregulated care providers.
