Welcome to the Administering Suppositories and Enemas Recertification Course in Developmental Services. This training is designed for developmental services staff, including nurses, developmental service workers, and personal support workers, who have previously completed the full Administering Suppositories and Enemas course. It provides a refresher on the theory and skills required to safely administer suppositories and enemas in compliance with the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA) and Quality Assurance Measures (QAM).

Through clear explanations and focused review, you will revisit the fundamentals of bowel protocols, the administration of medications used to treat constipation, and the use of emergency medications in specific circumstances such as seizures. The course emphasizes safe practice, professional responsibility, and the competence required to support individuals with dignity and care.

By the end of this course, you will have renewed knowledge and confidence in administering suppositories and enemas, ensuring you remain competent in providing safe, effective, and compassionate support.

Prerequisites: Administering Suppositories and Enemas (Full Course) and Introduction to Controlled Acts in Developmental Services.
